The limitations of cloud computing

The limitations of cloud computing, March 1, 2011

A short comment contextualizing the prediction could go right here

In another reminder that cloud computing comes with a very big asterisk, about a 125,000 Gmail users had trouble accessing their accounts this weekend, with some accounts even having lost user emails. Google is promising a quick fix thanks to offline backups tapes, but as most heavy email users know, especially in a business context, emails vanishing and having no access to email service is a panic-inducing fiasco. If you rely solely on a cloud service without local backups and alternate access points, sooner or later you’re gonna get burned.
